DESIGNED to eliminate problems for the customer first, our Safety Programs are a hybrid of several of the finest safety programs implemented in the country. The one aspect that sets K-Ltd.’s Safety department apart from the rest is the involvement of our drivers. We take a common sense approach by creating and implementing policies and procedures that protect the driver and the environment as well as work well in everyday scenarios. An employee’s involvement in our safety department begins before they are even employed. Each applicant goes through a strigent screening process in order to ensure we employ only the most qualified candidates. The classroom setting is just the beginning of the training our drivers receive. It is in this atmosphere that our new employees fully understand the extent we take in order to maintain our safety rating. The driver ride-along portion of training would not be successful without our certified driver trainers. They work closely with the Safety Department, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure the trainee receives the most comprehensive training possible. Quarterly Safety meetings are just one aspect of the drivers continual education. These meetings are a great success due to their hands on approach. The most successful meetings are were maintenance and safety come together and conduct live demonstration of examples of out-of-service equipment and the proper procedure to conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. These meetings are also another place to receive feedback on the constant evolution of the department. The relationship between the Safety Department and our insurance company is also important. It is a true partnership in which the only object is continual improvement. Their guidance has taken our accomplishments to the next level. State-of-the-art equipment plays a role too. Stainless steel fittings, specially designed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safety straps on cam locks are just a few of our many extra safety measures. It is just one more way the K-Ltd. goes above to protect it’s employees. K-Ltd. takes all of these measures in order to protect the driver, the customer and, truly most valuable, the environment. We eliminate potential safety concerns by stopping accidents before they happen.
